— How will my gift basket recipient be notified when the basket is to be delivered?

  • One of our basket department team members will reach out via phone call/email prior to the gift basket being delivered to ensure the recipient is aware one is on the way!
  • If it has been confirmed that a basket can be left at its delivery location and the customer does not retrieve the basket, The Market Basket is not liable for the basket.
  • Once a basket has been delivered to its destination, The Market Basket cannot be liable for the basket and the customer takes full ownership of the basket. Also, circumstances beyond our control, such as severe weather, natural disasters and so forth may affect the basket delivery.
  • Market Basket is not liable for shipped baskets once they are picked up from the carrier.
  • Carriers are responsible for delayed shipping times.

— What if my gift basket recipient is not home when the basket is delivered?

  • Our team members will contact your gift basket recipient so that they can ensure someone will be home for the delivery of the basket.

— Can we return a gift basket?

  • Baskets are non-returnable. If you have an issue with your gift basket, please give our basket department a call at (201) 891-2000 and one of our team members would be happy to help you.

— How do I place my order if I am tax exempt?

  • Please give our basket department a call at (201) 891-2000 and we would be happy to help you place your order and verify your tax information so you get billed accordingly. 
  • In order to place orders that will be tax exempt in the future - please create an account within our website, then notify us and from there our team will be able to make your account tax exempt.

—  Is my shipping method time the amount of time it will take for my order to be delivered?

  • Please note that your shipping method length refers to the amount of time your item will be in transit, not the amount of time it takes for your order to be fulfilled. Please allow 1-2 business days for your order to be processed and fulfilled before it is shipped out.
  • We currently do not ship on the weekends. If you place your order on Friday, it may be shipped out the following week depending on our current order volume. 

— When will my basket be delivered/shipped?

It takes one to two business days to receive and process your order.

  • For Shipped Baskets:
    • Your basket delivery timeline will start once the package is picked up by the delivery service, not once you submit your order. Your shipping method selected at checkout only applies to time in transit. Your tracking will show movement and update automatically once your package is in our carrier's possession. Please note, all processing times may be extended during the holiday season.
  • For Market Basket Delivery Baskets:
    • Baskets with Market Basket Delivery selected will be delivered by our own fleet of Market Basket delivery trucks and drivers on your requested delivery date. Please note, all processing times may be extended during the holiday season.
  • For Store Pick-Up
    • Baskets with in-store pick-up selected will be available for pick-up on your requested delivery date only at our Franklin Lakes store location.

— How are my items packaged?

  • For Shipped Baskets:
    • Each basket is assembled and wrapped by hand by one of our talented basket makers. Each shippable basket consists of one wooden basket crate, hay filler, your gourmet gift basket products, it is wrapped in clear plastic and tied with a bow. Once the basket is assembled, it will be packed into a box filled with packing peanuts for protection and sealed with packing tape.
  • For Market Basket Delivery and Store Pick-Up Baskets:
    • Each basket is assembled and wrapped by hand by one of our talented basket makers. Each gift basket consists of one wooden basket crate, hay filler, your gourmet gift basket products, it is wrapped in clear plastic and tied with a bow.

— When will my basket be delivered/shipped?

  • The basket shipping methods selected will be the estimated time a basket takes to be delivered after the order is placed and packed. We allow a 1-2 business day processing time for all baskets to be shipped. We currently do not ship baskets on the weekends.

— Can I create my own custom basket?

  • Unfortunately, we do not offer custom gift baskets for sale on our online store currently.
  • If you are looking to make a custom gift basket, please give our basket department a call at (201) 891-2000 or stop in our Franklin Lakes store location and one of our basket team members would be happy to accommodate you.

— Can I add to or substitute items into a gift basket?

  • The current basket selections cannot be substituted or changed.
  • Certain products in our gift baskets are seasonal and are sometimes not available. We will occasionally run out of a specific item. While this does not occur often, we reserve the right to make substitutions of similar value.
  • Some more perishable items in our gift baskets may be replaced with other gourmet items of equal or greater value when the weather gets warmer.

— Can I use my Market Basket gift card online?

  • Unfortunately, our Market Basket gift cards are only for in-store use currently.

— Will my package be delivered on my requested delivery date?

  • Requested delivery dates are requested – not guaranteed to be delivered on that date.

— How can I cancel my basket order?

  • All basket orders cannot be cancelled once they have been shipped/delivered.

— Are my basket items perishable?

  • NOTICE: Certain items in all baskets may be perishable and require refrigeration.

— Do you offer gluten free, vegan, or kosher baskets?

  • Baskets are not guaranteed to be allergy friendly or Kosher. Baskets are produced in an environment where there may be cross contamination between products.
